EDF Renewable Energy Maverick Projects Deliver Commercial Operation
Maverick 1 supplied 125 MW AC electricity to Edison in Southern California under a 15-year power purchase contract (PPA), while Maverick 4 supplied 100 MW AC power and renewable features to Shell Energy North America (USA) LP under a 15-year PPA. provides. .
The two projects that are part of the Palen Solar project are located adjacent to each other on unincorporated land in Riverside County, California, managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The BLM designates this area as a solar energy zone (SEZ) and development focus area – land reserved for renewable energy development at the utility scale. Both projects consist of horizontal uniaxial tracking solar photovoltaic (PV) technology.
“EDF Renewables Resources is pleased to partner with Southern California Edison and Shell to help meet its clean energy and low carbon goals through Maverick Solar Projects,” says Ryan Pfaff, vice president of grid-scale energy at EDF Renewables. “The support of the local, state and federal government is critical to renewable development, and we thank everyone who supported this project through development.”
The EDF Renewable Asset Optimization group will perform operations and maintenance services throughout the life of the project. The group will provide NERC compliance support, remote monitoring and facility balance management to maximize power generation.
